Philzuid is an orchestra by and for everyone. We constantly push our boundaries, seeking new challenges that touch people of all ages in mind, heart, and soul. Based in Eindhoven and Maastricht, we are deeply connected to the people of North Brabant, Limburg, and Zeeland, as well as far beyond, both nationally and internationally. Under the direction of chief conductor Duncan Ward, we create unforgettable moments of joy for all. We are the symphony orchestra of the South.
Philzuid is constantly innovating. We design and create new concert formats in unexpected locations. We take great pride in our extensive educational programs. Small ensembles composed of orchestra musicians visit primary schools to give students an up-close and engaging experience of live classical music. Students meet the full symphony orchestra in theatres or concert halls and participate in performances. For secondary education, we develop programs that allow students to experience live classical music and connect with our musicians.
Everyone at a concert experiences emotional moments—feelings of awe and wonder, inner peace and inspiration, reflection, and renewed energy. Our goal is for everyone to feel these joyful moments through our music.
