Flanders Symphony Orchestra
The Flanders Symphony Orchestra has grown into a dynamic and versatile ensemble that places symphonic music at the heart of society. Founded in 1960 by Dirk Varendonck, who also served as its first conductor, the orchestra has built a rich artistic legacy over the decades. In 1986, it adopted the name “Nieuw Vlaams Orkest,” working with conductors such as Patrick Peire, Robert Groslot, and Fabrice Bollon. Following a major transformation in 1995, the orchestra took on its current name and continued its artistic development under the direction of David Angus, Etienne Siebens, Seikyo Kim, Jan Latham-Koenig, and Kristiina Poska. From January 2026 onwards, the orchestra will be led by Martijn Dendievel.
Deeply rooted in Flanders yet internationally minded, the orchestra combines strong local engagement with broad artistic ambitions. From intimate educational concerts in the neighbourhoods of Ghent and its own concert series in Ghent, Antwerp, and Bruges, to prestigious performances and innovative artistic projects on renowned concert stages at home and abroad, the orchestra continues to reach audiences of all generations.
The Flanders Symphony Orchestra is supported by the Flemish Government and the City of Ghent, and has been in residence at Muziekcentrum De Bijloke Ghent since 2017.
Brabant Koor
Brabant Koor is a versatile project choir that delivers a wide range of top-level concerts. The choir thrives at the intersection of tradition and innovation, passing down great choral works to the new generation. Since its inception in 1981, Brabant Koor has collaborated with philharmonie zuidnederland and other leading orchestras in the Netherlands and abroad. Several renowned guest conductors, including Jaap van Zweden, Valery Gergiev, and Hartmut Haenchen, have successfully led this prominent concert choir to great heights!
Souvenir KoorAcademie Tilburg
Al meer dan 25 jaar bestaat het Souvenir KoorAcademie onder de muzikale leiding van Lieke Beirnaert. Bij dit koor wordt er in veel verschillende stijlen muziek gezongen; uit binnen- en buitenland, popmuziek en musical, maar ook klassieke muziek. Er wordt regelmatig meegewerkt aan uitvoeringen van een opera, musical of een concert van een andere vereniging. Daarnaast worden ook zelfstandig concerten gegeven.
Kooracademie Breda
Kooracademie Breda (KAB) emerged in 2020 from the nearly 100-year-old boys' choir tradition of the Sacramentskoor Breda. At the Kooracademie Breda, pleasure in singing together is paramount. This goes hand in hand with high-quality vocal training for children between the ages of 4 and 18. The children of the Kooracademie Breda have an extensive repertoire and strive for a high level. Kooracademie Breda is regularly asked by professional music companies to participate in concerts, such as the Carmina Burana and the Mattheus Passion. In 2023, Kooracademie Breda performed together with Philharmonie Zuid-Nederland in the production 'Lord the Rings in concert: The Fellowship of the Ring' in Ahoy', among other places.
Conductor
De Zwitserse dirigent Ludwig Wicki begon zijn carrière als trombonist in Luzern en groeide uit tot een pionier van filmconcerten. Met zijn 21st Century Orchestra leidde hij in 2008 de wereldpremière van The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in Concert.
Sindsdien dirigeerde hij wereldwijd iconische producties, waaronder The Two Towers, The Return of the King, Gladiator en Pirates of the Caribbean, met optredens in onder meer de Royal Albert Hall in Londen en Radio City Music Hall in New York. Wicki staat bekend om zijn unieke vermogen om film en symfonische muziek tot een meeslepende ervaring te versmelten.
De eerste filmconcerten van de eerste twee delen waren binnen recordtijd uitverkocht. Zorg dat je je inschrijft voor de pre-sale om jezelf te verzekeren van de beste stoelen. De pre-sale start maandag 26 mei om 11:00 uur. De pre-registratie sluit op zondag 25 mei. De reguliere kaartverkoop start woensdag 28 mei om 11:00 uur. Zolang de voorraad strekt.
Matinee: het matinee concert start om 13:00 uur en de verwachte eindtijd is 16:55 uur. Avond: het avond concert start om 19:30 uur en de verwachte eindtijd is 23:30 uur. Zorg dat je tijdig aanwezig bent en 15 minuten voor aanvang op je stoel plaatsneemt.
De aanvang is een uur van tevoren. Voor het matinee concert ben je welkom vanaf 12:00 uur in Rotterdam Ahoy | RTM Stage. Voor het avond concert ben je welkom vanaf 18:30 uur in Rotterdam Ahoy | RTM Stage. Zorg dat je tijdig aanwezig bent om niks te missen en neem 15 minuten voor start van het concert plaats op je stoel.
